They epitomize the meaning of the words, “Power Couple”, for these humble servants have been blessed with many individual and collective gifts, and they are geared with using each of them to further build God’s kingdom. 

Our Pastor, the Reverend Donald J. General, Jr., is a third generation Church of God in Christ (COGIC) member, who preaches and teaches faithfully the redemptive message of The Cross.   Elder General, originally from Morristown New Jersey, was ordained by the late, 3rd Jurisdictional Prelate and COGIC General Board Member, Bishop Levi E. Willis, Sr. Elder General is proud to be a part of the newly sanctioned Virginia 4th Jurisdiction, under the leadership of Bishop G. Wesley Hardy Sr. 

An advocate of “life-long” learning, he has earned a Bachelors degree from Park University, a Masters degree from the University of Maryland, a Master of Divinity and Doctor of Ministry degree from the Norfolk Theological Seminary and College in partnership with Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary (Dissertation title: "Cyber-Sin: Exploring Spiritual Challenges in the 21st Century"), and he is in the final stages of completing his second doctorate, a Ph.D. from Northcentral University in Business Administration. 
Our First Lady’s credentials are equally impressive.  Lady Tanyeil "Tangie" General grew up in New Orleans, Louisiana.  As a youth, she served as Sunday-School teacher, Praise Dance Leader, on the Missionary Board and Usher Board.  Evangelist Missionary General is a woman of God who not only supports her husband but is a force to be reckoned with in corporate America as well.    Academically, she has earned an Associates degree from Saint Leo University, a Bachelors of Arts degree from Averett University and has culminated her learning with a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Liberty University. Mrs. General is certified through the Program Management Institute as a Project Management Professional (PMP) and is currently a government civilian serving as a Senior Project/Program Management Analyst for Naval Network Warfare Command in Norfolk, VA.   Mrs. General also works with several charitable organizations such as the American Diabetes Association, the United Way, the Boy Scouts of America, and  Habitat for Humanities.
In 2008, Pastor and First Lady General launched Perfecting Saints, LLC, a ministry designed to assist pastors with perfecting the “business” of the church!  Perfecting Saints LLC specializes in issues surrounding church growth, membership retention, financial management/budgeting, and grant & proposal writing.  Tanyeil  manages the company as the Chief Financial Officer , and her husband serves as the Chief Executive Officer;  they  are committed to seeing the vision of perfecting the saints fully manifested here on earth.  Don & Tanyeil are the proud parents of five children:  Donovan, Trenton, Haven, Cameron and Kyra.
